This group will benefit practitioners of the Healing Arts, spiritual seekers and anyone interested in their own self-healing, by revealing a new, yet ancient way of understanding and enhancing health.

In this workshop we will:

  • Explore a vision of health from the Eastern perspective, pointing out the universal source of healing within us all.
  • Uncover the root cause of a physical disorder, rather than just its symptoms, taking the totality of our being into consideration.
  • Discover our unique inner landscape and our body's energetic systems.
  • Learn some basic concepts of Oriental Medicine integrated in the Taoist and Vedic philosophical and spiritual thoughts, such as: The concept of Qi, Prana or energy, the concept of Jing or essence, the concept of Shen or spirit, the concept of Yin and Yang and the law of the 5-elements.

Through these basic concepts we will understand:

  • The interconnectedness of all phenomena
  • The primal laws that govern the universe including our body and mind
  • What keeps the universe in order and balance through the cyclic patterns of creation and destruction of the 5-elements

Qigong practice in the Himalayas

Through Qi-gathering movements, presentations, open discussions, role-play exercises, meditation and visualizations, we will:

  • Uncover our own constitutional type with its strengths, weaknesses and life lessons.
  • Feel empowered with a more universal perspective and knowledge of our relationship with our own self and the environment
  • Gain a deeper understanding and the right tools to keep our body and mind healthy and vibrant.

Our inner self is a wide-open book if we learn how to read it. Let's learn to recognize and take care of imbalances and dis-harmonies before they become serious ailments. To live in health and harmony is a beautiful gift and it always starts with our Self.

About Soma Glick

Soma Devi has been teaching week-end workshops and ten day intensive courses for acupuncturists for the last ten years. At the request of many of her patients and students, Soma has now expanded the sharing of her knowledge of holistic healing and Oriental medicine to the public at large.

Through her own personal quest and journey into healing, she has integrated concepts of Chinese medicine, Tibetan medicine and Ayurveda and she sees the same essence at the core of these different bodies of knowledge.

Soma has developed this course to explain in lay terms, many healing principles derived from the Oriental perspective, and how they can be applied in our lives. Soma started her spiritual journey when she arrived at the Rajneesh ashram in Pune, India in 1977. She remained with the Osho community until the end of the ranch in Oregon in 1985. She started her training in holistic healing in 1986 at the Jay Scherer’s academy of Natural healing in Santa Fe, NM. In 1993, she graduated with a Master of Oriental Medicine from a 3-year full time program at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine also in Santa Fe, NM.

She met Poonja ji, an enlightened mystic in 1993 and went to live with him in Lucknow until his passing in 1997.

From 1998 to 2005, Soma was a professor at the Southwest Acupuncture College in Boulder, CO, where she taught several classes, developed the pediatric class and seminars, supervised clinics as well as personally mentored several students.

From 2005 to 2013, Dr. Soma, as the Balinese affectionately call her, has lived on the island of Bali. She loves the beauty, grace and devotion of the traditional Balinese way of worship. She had a busy private practice, donated time for community service at the Bumi Sehat Birthing clinic in Ubud, and offered intensive courses for acupuncturists, on children and women’s health, not only in Bali, but in Myanmar, and also with the Tibetan community in India, all of which included free clinics for the local population.

Soma has just relocated to Boulder, CO. USA in May 2013, resumed her professorship at the Southwest Acupuncture College, and opened a new office for her private practice.
