Dear Soma and Somnath,

Wow, last year at this time my life changed and my soul breathed a breathe of new life as it was united with a piece of its intended destiny As Jack Kornfield coined ” the compass of my heart” pointed toward Mcleod Ganj and the Indian and Tibetan community. There has not been one day this past year that I did not think about that experience. A cherished” sacred pause” on my journey in this life. Both of you lovely friends made it possible for me to complete a dream. I hope you know that all the work you have done and continue to do to make these trips possible for us is nothing less than a loving gift you are giving. I will forever be grateful and feel blessed that through my dear Susan I was able to meet and spend that time with those lovely women from all corners of the world, and the both of you. I am so excited for the next 8 lives that will have the privilege to learn and offer their skills to that community of gracious loving people. I mentioned in one of my prior e-mails that I am taking donation of any size for Yongling Creche in my acupuncture clinic. I was hoping to buy some books, and school supplies. i will not have the kind of money needed for the buildings being built but perhaps a few hundred dollars every year would help in some way. I tried to go to the web site tibkids.org but it did not work. It will be a year ago tomorrow that we began the class and the clinic, I look at all the photos and even though my hair is bad from all the rain and a broken dryer, and my face has little makeup, I wear a glow and smile that begins within and think that I never looked more beautiful….

Words can’t express my gratitude for our class and clinic time in Bali. I am so grateful for everything I learned and everyone I met. I have made some amazing new friends and captured memories of a lifetime. I miss Bali and all the people there tremendously!! You and Somnath have given me a great gift by sharing your knowledge and your community. I am forever changed.

Just wanted to say that I had the most amazing journey working with Soma and her husband, Somnath in India. I have attended Soma’s Peds and Ob intensive in Bali and was honored that they asked me to join them in the first group to India. I have learned so much from Soma. She is so passionate and caring to her patients. She is an excellent teacher. All who take Soma’s seminars wherever she is teaching, will leave enriched with the spirit of our medicine as well as the classroom and clinical experience. I recommend her intensives to all practitioners. I am glad that we are friends and colleagues.

Thanks so much for an incredible course! You can definitely give my email to anyone that is interested in the course. It was an amazing experience – I learned so much and it was such a joy to treat the women, children and men from the area.
I received your email that this will be the last course in Bali. I’m sad to hear that but very glad that I was able to attend the class last April. It was a great course and a wonderful experience. I learned a lot and have been inspired to study with Dr. Tan after seeing great results with some of his methods used in the clinic. Although I can’t make it this fall (to India), I would love to be considered for any future courses.

“I first met Soma Glick in the fall of 1990. She was one of 20 students beginning her first classes at the International Institute of Chinese Medicine in Santa Fe, New Mexico. At the time I was teaching acupuncture point energetics and location. My classes were considered very demanding and it was clear from the beginning that Soma was up for the challenge. She is very intelligent, energetic and committed to this medicine. She excelled in my weekly quizzes and quickly stood above the crowd. She later completed the course with straight ‘A’s. Even though I never had the pleasure of teaching her any other classes she continued to excel in all areas of her studies. She did post-graduate work at Southwest Acupuncture College , also in Santa Fe, and attended an internship in China.
