This workshop will focus on the practical side of treating children with Oriental Medicine – right away you will be able to apply your new skills in a clinical setting. Learn to diagnose effectively, understanding the unique differences between children and adults. Learn to use the finger vein diagnosis and abdominal palpation (fukushin). Learn to use sho-ni-shin, a painless and non-needle Japanese system of working with meridians and acupuncture points. The Sho-ni-shin tools are specifically designed to work with infants and children one month to ten years old. A safe, easy, yet very effective way to treat many common childhood disorders. It can also be used for health maintenance, to stimulate a weakened immune system and strengthen health in general. We will discuss the use of acupuncture needles, moxibustion, herbal treatments, dietary and lifestyle recommendations, as well as good common sense.
